IBPS Clerk free mock test practice: what overlaps with SBI

In short

We do not run an IBPS-pattern mock, but our free SBI Clerk mocks and practice questions cover most of what IBPS Clerk tests, because the Prelims structure is the same: English 30, Numerical Ability 35 and Reasoning 35. Mains is where the two differ, especially since IBPS revised its Mains for CSA-XVI, so this page shows exactly where the overlap ends.

IBPS Clerk is now called CSA

IBPS has renamed the clerk post Customer Service Associate. The 2026-27 process is CRP CSA-XVI. It is a common recruitment for several public sector banks, and after the final result candidates are provisionally allotted to one of them based on merit and preference. SBI does not take part; it recruits its own Junior Associates.

For the 2026 cycle, IBPS held Prelims on 10 and 11 October 2026, and its calendar lists Mains tentatively for 27 December 2026. Check our exam dates page and the IBPS website for confirmation.

So an SBI Clerk Prelims mock here is close practice for IBPS Prelims. The one real difference is the cut-off rule. Because IBPS needs a minimum score in every section, you cannot afford to leave a weak section nearly blank, as some candidates do in SBI. Use our sectional mocks to bring your weakest section up to a safe level.

Mains: IBPS changed its pattern for CSA-XVI

IBPS revised the clerk Mains pattern for the CSA-XVI cycle. In the notification's table, Mains has four sections: General/Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability and Quantitative Aptitude. There is no separate Computer Aptitude section, and the paper is shorter, with fewer questions and less time, than SBI's 190 questions in 160 minutes. As in Prelims, IBPS expects a minimum in each test.

Coaching websites quote slightly different figures for the new IBPS Mains, so take the exact question counts and timings from the official IBPS notification, not from secondary sources, including this page.

Our Mains mocks follow the SBI pattern. They are still useful for IBPS Mains subject practice, but the timing and section sizes will not match.

How to use this site for IBPS Clerk

  1. For Prelims: take SBI Clerk Prelims mocks as they are. They match the IBPS Prelims structure closely.
  2. For Mains English, Quant and GA: use SBI Mains sectional mocks for subject practice, then check the IBPS time per question and set a custom test to match it.
  3. For Mains Reasoning: build a custom test from puzzles, seating, syllogism, coded inequality and logical reasoning, with a timer set to the IBPS pace.
  4. For weak sections: because each test has a minimum, give your weakest subject an extra sectional every week.

Preparing for SBI and IBPS together

Most clerk aspirants apply for both, and that is sensible: the syllabus is shared, and preparing once covers both Prelims. Where they part is Mains. SBI Mains needs Computer Aptitude inside the Reasoning section; IBPS Mains, as revised, does not list it separately. SBI Mains is longer and needs more stamina; IBPS Mains is shorter, with less time per question.

In the 2026 cycle SBI Mains is due in November and IBPS Mains in late December, so a practical order is to prepare for SBI Mains first and then spend two or three weeks adjusting to the IBPS pace.

Our FAQ comparing SBI Clerk and IBPS Clerk lays out the two patterns side by side.

When is IBPS Clerk Mains 2026?

The IBPS calendar lists CSA-XVI Mains tentatively on 27 December 2026. Confirm on the IBPS website or our exam dates page closer to the time.
