Free SBI Clerk Prelims mock test with 20-minute sections

In short

The free SBI Clerk Prelims mock test here has 100 questions in 60 minutes: English 30, Numerical Ability 35 and Reasoning 35, each locked to its own 20-minute timer. Wrong answers cost 0.25, and you get section-wise results, a percentile and solutions as soon as you submit.

The Prelims pattern the mock copies

English Language303020 min
Numerical Ability353520 min
Reasoning Ability353520 min

This matches the 2026 SBI notification. Prelims is a screening test: no sectional minimum is prescribed, about ten times the vacancies in each category go through to Mains, and Prelims marks are not added to the final merit.

How the questions are spread

Each Prelims mock is built from a topic mix that follows the usual shape of the paper. Roughly:

  • English: a reading comprehension passage of about 8 questions, a cloze test, error detection, fillers and para jumbles, plus one or two word-level questions.
  • Numerical Ability: about 7 simplification and 3 approximation questions, a 5-question number series, around 10 DI questions in sets, and arithmetic word problems for the rest.
  • Reasoning: about 15 questions from puzzles and seating arrangement, then syllogism, inequality, alphanumeric series, blood relations, direction and a few short topics.

The real paper shifts a little from shift to shift, so do not treat this as a promise of what you will see. It is designed to make you practise the same balance of quick and slow questions.

An attempt strategy to test in your mocks

Twenty minutes for 35 questions is about 34 seconds each. You will not finish everything carefully, so decide in advance what to do first. One common approach, which you can test and adjust:

Numerical Ability

Simplification and approximation first (about 6 to 7 minutes), then number series, then the DI set that looks easiest, then arithmetic. Skip any question that needs more than two lines of working on the first look.

Reasoning

Inequality, syllogism and short topics first (about 6 minutes), then the puzzle or seating set that looks most direct. Leave the hardest puzzle for last or skip it.

English

Fillers and error detection first, then cloze, para jumbles and the passage last.

Our attempt order FAQ discusses alternatives. Use a few mocks to find the order that suits you, then keep it fixed.

How the score is calculated

Take a mock where you attempt 74 questions, get 64 right and 10 wrong, and leave 26 blank. Your score is 64 − (10 × 0.25) = 61.5.

Now suppose you had skipped six of those wrong attempts instead. You would have 64 right and 4 wrong: 64 − 1 = 63. Fewer attempts, higher score. With five options, a pure guess has an expected value of zero, so guess only when you can rule out at least one option.

Look at your wrong count per section after every mock. If any section regularly has more than five or six wrong answers, slow down there before you try to speed up.

Reading your result

The result page gives you each section's score, accuracy and time used, plus a percentile against other learners on this site who took a Prelims mock. Because candidates here are at many different stages, the percentile is useful for tracking your own trend over several mocks, not for guessing a real cut-off.

There is no official "safe score" for Prelims. Shortlisting is state-wise and category-wise and depends on vacancies and the number of candidates. Our guide on how cut-offs work explains why you should aim above any figure quoted from past years.

Questions people ask

Is there sectional timing in the SBI Clerk Prelims mock?

Yes. Each section has 20 minutes and closes on its own, as in the real exam. You cannot move time between sections.

What is a good score in an SBI Clerk Prelims mock?

It depends on the mock's difficulty and on your state's competition. Watch your trend over several mocks and aim to improve accuracy first. Our FAQ on mock scores covers this.

Does the Prelims mock have General Awareness?

No. SBI Clerk Prelims has only English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning, so the Prelims mock has the same three sections. GA appears in the Mains mock.

Can I take the Prelims mock more than once?

Yes. Each new attempt is built afresh, preferring questions you have not seen, so you are not repeating the same paper.
