For calculation questions you can type the number instead of choosing an option; commas, "Rs." and "%" are ignored and small rounding is allowed. The rough-work pad lets you type notes (saved in your browser) or draw.
Both features are there to make practice closer to real solving. Typing the answer shows whether you can reach the number yourself, without leaning on the options. The pad replaces scrap paper when you practise on a phone or tablet.
Typed answers
- Available on questions that have a numeric answer.
- Type the value, for example 1250, 12.5 or 37.5%. Commas, "Rs." and "%" are stripped before checking.
- A small tolerance allows for rounding (about 0.05% of the answer, unless the question sets its own).
- After checking, you see the correct option, the numeric answer and the full solution.
Keyboard shortcuts
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| 1-5 or A-E | Choose an option |
| Enter | Check answer |
| N | Next question |
Rough-work pad
| Mode | How it works | Saved? |
|---|---|---|
| Type | A notes box for steps and numbers | Yes, in your browser, per question |
| Draw | Sketch with mouse, finger or stylus; "Clear" wipes it | No, it clears when you leave |
Typed notes are kept on your device only. They do not go to your account, so they will not appear on another device.
A good habit
Use the drawing pad for puzzles and seating, exactly as you would draw on the rough sheet in the exam. Draw the same layout every time. In mock tests, use paper beside you, because the real exam provides rough sheets and no on-screen pad.
When to type instead of choosing
Typing works best in arithmetic, simplification and DI practice, where you want to check the full method. In mock tests you choose options, as in the real exam. A mix of both builds accuracy first and exam technique second.
