What minimum percentage in graduation is required for SBI Clerk?

EligibilityUpdated 2026-10-23
Short answer

No minimum percentage is required. The notification asks only for graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.

There is no minimum percentage for SBI Clerk. The essential academic qualification in the 2026 notification is simply graduation in any discipline from a recognised university, or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. The same wording was used in 2025 and 2024.

What this means for you

  • A pass degree is enough. Whether you scored 45% or 85% in graduation, your eligibility is the same.
  • Any stream works - BA, BCom, BSc, BBA, BCA, BTech, BE, BPharm and so on.
  • Marks in 10th and 12th are not counted for eligibility either.
  • Your graduation marks are not used in the final merit list. Selection is based only on your aggregate marks in the Main exam (plus the local language test where applicable).

What you do need

Requirement2026 notification
QualificationGraduation in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent
Date by which you must have passedOn or before 31 December 2026
Final-year studentsCan apply provisionally

Special case: ex-servicemen

Matriculate ex-servicemen who obtained the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education (or the corresponding Navy or Air Force certificate) after at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces are also eligible, even without a graduation degree. The certificate must be dated on or before the cut-off date.

Since marks do not matter for eligibility, spend your energy on the Mains syllabus - that is the only score that decides selection.
Other banks and other SBI posts may have different rules. Confirm the qualification clause in the latest official SBI Junior Associate notification.
