The free SBI Clerk Mains mock test on this site follows the 2026 pattern: 190 questions for 200 marks in 160 minutes, split into four separately timed sections, including General/Financial Awareness and the combined Reasoning and Computer Aptitude section. It is scored with negative marking and ends with section-wise results and solutions.
The Mains pattern, section by section
| Section | Questions | Marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| General/Financial Awareness | 50 | 50 | 35 min |
| General English | 40 | 40 | 35 min |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 50 | 50 | 45 min |
| Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude | 50 | 60 | 45 min |
| Total | 190 | 200 | 160 min |
The Mains aggregate alone decides the final state-wise, category-wise merit list, so this is the paper that gets you the job. SBI has said the 2026 Mains is tentatively in November 2026; check the exam dates page for updates.
How Mains feels different from Prelims
- It is long. 160 minutes of focus is nearly three times Prelims. Stamina is a real factor, and only full mocks build it.
- GA comes first and is fast. 50 questions in 35 minutes. You either know an answer or you do not, so this section rewards preparation, not calculation.
- Quant is DI-heavy. Our Mains mock gives about 15 DI questions out of 50, along with quadratic equations, series, approximation, data sufficiency and arithmetic.
- The last section carries 60 marks for 50 questions. On average each is worth 1.2 marks, and a wrong answer costs about 0.3. Computer questions sit inside it alongside reasoning puzzles.
A plan for each section in the mock
General/Financial Awareness (35 minutes)
Go through all 50 once, answering only what you are sure of. Then return to marked questions where you can rule out options. Do not spend long thinking about a fact you do not know.
English (35 minutes)
Start with the shorter question types, then passages. Mains passages are longer, so practise reading at a steady pace rather than rereading.
Quantitative Aptitude (45 minutes)
Quadratic equations and series first, then DI sets one by one. Read the whole DI set's questions before calculating, since several often use the same figure.
Reasoning and Computer (45 minutes)
Many candidates clear computer questions first because they are quick, then move to puzzles. Test whether that works for you in two or three mocks.
Before your first full Mains mock
If you have just finished Prelims, a full Mains mock straight away can be discouraging. Take one sectional mock for each Mains section first. GA and Computer sectionals in particular tell you how much ground you need to cover in the coming weeks.
Then plan for two full Mains mocks a week, with a day of review after each. A Mains mock with careful review can easily take five hours in total, so put it on a day when you have that time.
A note on GA questions in the mock
The GA section of our Mains mock mixes current affairs with static topics: banking awareness, RBI and monetary policy, financial terms, financial institutions, government schemes, economy and budget, and static GK. The static questions test things that do not go out of date. The current affairs questions are written from recent news, but news keeps moving, and no question bank can stay fully up to date for every exam date.
So treat the GA section of the mock as a check on your method and coverage, and keep reading the news yourself every day. In the last two weeks before Mains, revise RBI's latest policy announcements and the major schemes and appointments of the past few months from your own notes. Anything with a number attached, such as a policy rate, should be checked against the official source close to the exam.
Reviewing a Mains mock
Use the solutions view, filtered to wrong and unattempted questions, section by section. For GA, write every fact you missed in a short list and revise it before the next mock. For Quant and Reasoning, note whether a wrong answer came from a concept, a calculation slip or time pressure. A pattern usually shows after two or three mocks, and that pattern tells you what to practise.
